Great Program from the Spooks!

Happy Halloween!
We had a great Halloween this year!
Thank you Mrs Jensen and the other moms that helped - you rocked!
The spooks, ghost, goblins, witches and princesses and all sorts of other great costumes did a great jo on their program! The kids were having fun and they all looked great!

Red Ribbion Week


Look at Me; I'm Drug Free!
Red Ribbon Week starts Nov. 2nd

Red Ribbon Week 2009 will be held the week of November 2nd. he theme this year is "Look at Me; I'm Drug Free". In order to make this a memorable experience, the PTA has planned a variety of daily activities for the student and their classes. We encourage parents to take the time to discuss the importance of making an active choice to stay drug free. Please take time to to look at the Red Ribbon Week Pledge that will be coming home soon, sign both parts of the pledge and return the student portion back to the school. We will be displaying each student's individual signed pledge at the school. Please display the home copy somewhere in your home where your child will see it often. The events planned for Red Ribbon Week are as follows:

Monday, November 2nd - "Look at Me, I am Drug Free"
Wear - RED, RED, RED! Activity: Assembly.

Tuesday, November 3rd - Being Drug Free is no Sweat
Wear - Your favorite pair of sweats Activity: Making the words "DRUG FREE" on our school fence with red ribbon.

Wednesday, November 4th - Sock It to Drugs Day
Wear - Your craziest pair of socks, Activity: There will be fun music and events outside during lunch recess.

Thursday, November 5th - Put a Cap on Drugs Day
Wear - Your favorite hat, Activity: Announce winners of the poster contest

Friday, November 6th - Take a Stand for a Drug Free Land
Wear - Red, White and Blue, Activity: Students who have family that are in the Armed Services, Law Enforcement or Saftey/Protection professions are invited to come to school for lunch. Please sign up in advance if you want school lunch. Don't forget to come dressed in uniform! We also have firemen and their trucks on the playground at lunch recess for the students to visit with!

Halloween Parade & Party - Reminder


Halloween Parade starts at 9 a.m.
The 4th grade will be having a short program for the parents right after the costume parade, so we aren't able to give you an exact time because it will depend on how long the parade takes.

After the program, we will be having our class party!

We could used some parent volunteers to help out with the party if your available please contact Heather Jensen or Mrs. Brown!

Jog-A-Thom

The PTA Fundraiser for C track was held today!


The kids participated in a jog-a-thon and had lots of fun! It was a bit chilly but the kids didn't care! The otter pops stayed frozen for the treat afterwards.

Remember that all jog-a-thon packets with donations are due back this Friday, October 30!!!

Spelling and Vocabulary for October 23rd to October 29th

These are the spelling and vocabulary words we will test on next week. They are coming home today and we will take the test on Thursday, October 29th.

Spelling Words:

clothing, value, whom, pointed,conserve, thrown, vault, beard, oyster, gear, haunt, blouse, ruin, mown, moan, inform, tune, growl, scorn, fern.

Vocabulary Words:

array - objects arranged in rows and columns
factors - numbers mulitplied together to obtain a product
product - the number obtained after multiplying
multiply - the product of a given whole number and any other whole number

A very busy week...

This is a very busy week...

First Parent Teacher Conferences are on Wednesday and Thursday this week. Please take the opportunity to come in and speak to Mrs. Brown and see how your student is doing!

Also during PTC the PTA is having the Book Fair! This a great chance for your student to get some books for reading! Please stop by and support the book fair while at the school!

Second, the reflection entries are due on Friday! You can take the link to the Foothills PTA website to download and print an entry form with all the rules! Good luck to all the students turning in entries! Remember entries are DUE THIS FRIDAY... October 23rd!

Finally, Friday is the end of the BOX TOPS Contest! Please send in all of the BOXTOPS and help our class win!
